Interview with Jacqueline Samuda
Date of publishing: 11th February 2005

Jacqueline Samuda Jacqueline Samuda is an actress, writer and director who has worked in the major entertainment industry centres of North America – Los Angeles , Toronto , Vancouver and New York City.
Jacqueline has won awards for writing, directing and acting, and 50 Questions, the short film she wrote and directed for Crazy8s 2003, has been featured in several film festivals.
Jacqueline is known by sci-fi fans for her role in Stargate SG-1, portraying the Goa'uld Nirrti in several episodes.
This is the first questions I asked to an actress and this is more a Q/A than a real interview, but enjoy it.

Gilles Nuytens: How did you end up with Nirrti's role?
Jacqueline Samuda: I auditioned for the role of Nirrti against a lot of other actresses. I'd heard that the producers like theatre training in their SG-1 performers and that was my background. The audition went well, but it didn't end there. I did a call-back (there were now three of us) and was given more direction, and ended up winning the role!

Gilles Nuytens: What the stargate adventure provided to you and your carreer?
Jacqueline Samuda: I've loved doing the show, and the unique thing it's brought to my career is being part of a worldwide phenomenon with legions of fans. I've had the chance to travel to a few cons and meet some of them. That's been wonderful.

Jacqueline Samuda - NirrtiGilles Nuytens: What do you think about the character you acted in SG-1?
Jacqueline Samuda: Nirrti? She's a lot of fun to play and she gets cool costumes!

Gilles Nuytens: A big question: Did you watch all SG-1 episodes? And Atlantis?
Jacqueline Samuda: I haven't seen all of the SG-1 or Atlantis episodes, but I'm interested in getting the DVD sets and watching a season at a time, one episode after the other.

Gilles Nuytens: What do you want to say to your fans in Belgium (I'm belgian) and from France? ... and to ALL your fans around the world!
Jacqueline Samuda: Bonjour! Je ne parle pas le francais courament, mais j'aime beaucoup la langue. J'ai passe cinq semaines en France il y a quelques annees, et c'etait absolument fantastique. Belgium, la prochaine fois! Et apres, la reste du monde...
Jacqueline Samuda actually wrote this answer in French, so here is the translation: Hello! I don't speak French fluently, but I love the language. I spent 5 weeks in France a few years ago, and it was just wonderful. Belgium is next stop! And after that... the entire world...
